The bright light overhead flickered on. I released a low groan. My eyes were swollen and puffy from all of the crying I had done. I had slept fitfully, my mouth still gagged, and my wrists and ankles still bound.

Not to mention it was still freezing cold. Every part of my body ached from shivering so much, and the hard, cold floor beneath me didn’t make it any easier to bear.
